How do I "de-shine" the rubber on my 13 year old running board?

What do you think? I don't think that the rubber is neoprene...... a sanding block?

The first thing that comes to mind is a very fine sandpaper. I would use a finer grade first and, if that doesn't work, try a coarser grade..... I'll let you know if I think of anything else...but I think your sanding block idea is about the same as mine.

I would suggest using a 3M Scothbrite pad. They will not scratch the rubber but should take the shine off. These pads are great to use in the kitchen for cleaning pots and pans. Work better than steel wool type pads. You could also, try using ArmorAll that comes in a "matte or dull" formulation. Not sure exactly what they call it but it it was formulated for dashboards underneath the windshield to reduce glare. Good Luck!!
